Creative Brief

CSP-F solar collectors

CSP-F

No

CSP-F is a brand new trademark from Fera, leader company in the italian market of solar collectors and green energy market. It will be specifically focused on solar collectors plants (CSP) that concentrate sunlight for the production of steam and electricity to be used as industrial or utility power.
You can see a typical plant configuration from this image: http://fera.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/csp1.jpg.
Three keywords about their products are: sun or sunray, energy and mirrors.
Their logo should convey all of these concepts, pointing out the tech and green aspects of their business and their italian DNA.

You must include at least white and yellow/orange, referring to the sun/solar energy. Some other fine alternatives would be silver or blue. Any addition of your choice will be evaluated.

You can make use of lettering (or logotype) as well as symbols.
The ideal logo is totally different from actual Fera logo (that you can see from their actual website: http://www.ferasrl.it/).
You could use a sunray shape and lettering, playing with CSP-F text to create something unique as well as use CSP-F letters to recall mirror and sunray shapes.
We would like you to use the golden ratio when setting WxH proportions (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio).

Hi everybody! Thank you all for your submissions and hard work on this not-easy project. We've much appreciated drafts from each one of you and we tried to follow every design with custom suggestion. Final client's attention has been captured by splashdesign creation, so... [drum roll] ...we decided to award #170, from splashdesign, as the winner for this competition. We'll be opening a second (and a third too) contest for stationery (and marketing collateral)...so if you find splashdesign's work a good inspiration, keep an eye on what's next. Obviously congratulations to splashdesign, we're waiting for you in particular in the other two contests too! Cheers! Chiara

Hi there! Just a brief update: we've met the final client and they provide us with some feedback. They're focusing on some drafts, that we've ranked 4-stars. Tomorrow we'll have a new meet to choose the finalized logo and work on the final rush to get the job done. Stand-by, we'll let you know soon! Thanks to all of you for your submissions, patience and work.

Hi everybody, thank you all for you hard and precious work. We've been evaluating your drafts and are now working closely with CSP-F, trying to identify the submmission which is most suitable for them. We'll keep you updated with their direct feedback, starting from tomorrow (Monday, in Italy). We had to eliminate duplicated, unecessary or out of scope designs, hope this will not make you feel unappreciated, bust we would just like to be on schedule and keep drafts close to our creative brief. Thanks again!

Hi everybody there! Thank you for your drafts and submissions. We're trying to provide you with personal feedback on every new entry. We've also scratched some (ugly) lettering drafts for you to work on, leaving the logo apart and trying to find new inspiration. You can find them here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/btzsatxcmpfa3fq/3.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/zzqi6b6pmkebyzw/1.jpg We would like you try to create a lettering too. Many of you have used solar panels as a key element in your drafts. As you can see from the creative brief, modular plants of concentrating solar power, rely on mirrors and not solar panels. Mirrors are rectangular, not squared, and they're used to reflect and concentrate sunrays onto a conductor pipe (see image http://fera.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/csp1.jpg for a live example). So, if you work on a symbol or abstract logo, keep in mind three key elements: yellow or orange sun, rectangular blue mirrors (panels) and a sunray, possibly, which should bounce over the panels and cross the text (CSP-F). Thanks again for your attention, patience and hard work..good luck for the contest! :)
