Describe who/what this design is about

We need a logo design for a new company based in California called "Genesis Sportz" Our initial brand is called GenesisHoops.com, which will run youth and adult basketball leagues, and conduct youth basketball skills training camps. To be clear, the logo we need at this time is for "Genesis Hoops", which will appear on our website, t-shirts, brochures and other promotional material. We would like to see designs that use red and/or orange, with a dark black and/or dark grey background. We are open to other colors that are bold and scream for attention. The focal point of the logo should be a distinctive 'G" in genesis, because this "G" will be used across all brands.The "G" should be able to stand alone- as an example, think of the "G" in the Gatorade logo. An ideal logo should have two versions, one with text only, the other with basketball graphics (either a basketball image or other graphic that communicates sports excellence). We dont mind if the image associated with the text portion of the logo is abstract, like the nike "swoosh". Genesis is the first book in the bible and we would like the logo to evoke a sense of passion and purpose for every athlete that wears our logo.

The final design should look good and be able to used on team jerseys. For that reason, I would like it if you could show me what it might look like on a team jersey with: "G" GENESIS HOOPS I'm thinking it may look good with outlined lettering for the team jerseys. Thanks eveyone, here's some feedback: I am preferring the designs which have the BOLD BLOCK lettering to spell out "GENESIS". I want the word "GENESIS" to be more prominent than the word "SPORTS" One of the most important aspects of the logo is the unique "G" I would like to see some more options. I like what other companies like "Ball Is Life" did with their unique icon because is gave them a lot of flexibility with printing it in various colors and adding sheilds and circles around it for different application without diluting the impression the symbol gives off. See (google Ballislife images) The designs that are standing out are following a more vertical arrangement. See example below. Note The unique G is can be placed either above the company name or on the left side of it. "G" GENESIS SPORTS Basketball www.genesishoops.com Also regarding color combinations, I prefer, black background, with use of grey, white and either bold red or bold orange, but not both red and orange together in same logo.

Please make the entire phase: "GENESIS SPORTS" all caps and large, and include "HOOPS" as a later part of the logo. As an example: "G"ENESIS SPORTS -HOOPS- Another option is to make the unique "G" part of the word Genesis, but please don't let that limit your creativity.
