Is it memorable? ie the Apple/Shell logos? Does the icon alone give everyday Joe a clue that it is a financial logo....or could it be a car dealership, a luggage company, a logo for wool or cotton?

well not a lot of people embroider anymore its much more cost efficient to do like an "iron-on" type style shirt, however the embroider machines I've seen shouldn't have an issue doing the logo you pretty much scan it in and it does the work for you.

For JamieConwell - How well do you think the entry that you recommended would be to embroider, let's say, on a shirt?

I don't know if you are looking for input but number 1674 is amazingly well done. It looks well in color and black and white without losing the strong design concept. I just wanted to tell that person that and give you my input as well from a designer stand point it is very well crafted.

Not that we're numbers people, well I am. Just thought you all might find the following interesting (being in the business that I am in I tend to look at everything): Of the 165 contestants who entered, 34 remain or 21% Of those 34 contestants, they have entered 10,936 contests over time on this site, while winning 802 times. Of the 34 remaining contestants, 6 have two designs eligible. For those of you that are right-brain functioning only, no reason to dwell on the numbers. Sincerely, Mark

Update: It has been 20 hours since the close of the contest! From the moment the contest closed at 5:07pm EST until 3:15am EST I was able to narrow those designs still under consideration from 291 to 63. I was back at it this morning and it took much longer (about 3 hours) to go from 63 to where we stand now, the TOP 40. If your design is still being considered, then you should feel extremely proud of your achievement. Not only from a straight numbers perspective (only 2.4% of all draft designs submitted for the contest still remain), but also from the standpoint that you actually do have two fairly creative people that are judging the works from this end: My Marketing Executive Randy who works in New York City and has 30+ years experience with clients such as Mercedes-Benz and several international restaurant chains. And, there is also myself, who yes I have a chemical engineering degree and do run a financial company, but I also became a professional photographer at the age of 15. I won numerous awards in various photographic fields (astrophotography at MIT would be one of the highlights) as well as having spent 10 years at Eastman Kodak in the Professional Photography Division. So, I will be meeting with Randy later today/tonight and hopefully between the two of us, the selection process will be quick and effective. Again, I thank you all for your exceptional efforts. Sincerely, Mark

Update: 40 Minutes Left (5pm EST)! It is NOT necessary, but would be helpful to us to compare 1-for-1; for those who have a 5 star design if they can submit a draft on how it would translate on a business card format prior to today's close. It doesn't need to be perfect as we will just use the information to help us in our overall evaluation. Sincerely, Mark

Update: 3+ hours to go! Anyone ever see Al Pacino in Dog Day Afternoon (1974). Towards the end of a LONG LONG day he gets on the phone with the wife and utters this classic line: "Ah, I'm dying over here..." I'm guessing some us could do a good imitation of that scene right about now. I have been on the phone with MycroBurst and verified the following: When the contest ends and before selection of a winner, if we need any adjustments such as a color change, etc we can put the request in through MycroBurst at the time and the appropriate designer would be notified via email. We will try to make the selection process quick and efficient, but we definitely want to conduct a thorough evaluation of each 5 star design acheived. Bottom line: We are well aware and value each designer's time and energy spent during the creative process. We will keep everyone apprised of the selection process in this Discussion Area. So, please check back from time to time for any updates. Sincerely, Mark

Update: 6 hours to go! Just a quick note. I do not have the the most up-to-date information (I should be able to gather prior to the close at about 5pm EST) but this has kind of turned out to be the Super Bowl of projects. I can tell you a few days ago more than 130 designers had submitted to the contest. I think the final number will be greater than 150 designers. There are over 1,500 submissions. Whoever is selected should feel very proud. I am proud to have had such a great turn out for the project and wish most everyone could win. So even though there can only be one winner, I think it says a lot about each of you who have made it this far. It probably says more about your dedication and resourcefulness than just about your talent alone. I will be here right to the end if you need me. Sincerely, Mark
