Mindfulness in Academia

Focus despite disruption. Productivity despite stress.

Yes

Background: Education is struggling with the need for change coming at them from a lot of directions. This is very stressful for faculty and administration and results in them mostly resisting the change, instead of working toward the change. I've been in education for a long time and now I'm hoping to work to support those in education to handle the change occurring in a positive way.

Mindfulness in Academia is a company that will train faculty, administrators, any groups within an institution in mindful contemplative practices. These practices will support the people who learn them by allowing them to focus despite the disruption caused by stress and change. The definition of Mindfulness is to be in the present moment, with awareness and without judgement. I will offer a variety of on-site and online training programs of various lengths.

Contemplative practice is a nonthreatening way of saying meditation.

I want to convey an impression or attitude of calm, focus, guidance, and trust.

I purposely chose a name for my company that is very clear. It tells people exactly what I do and who the audience is that I hope to reach. I have extensive background and contacts within education. The logo should be unique, yet clear and focused, it should also say that I'm comfortable in the world of education.

I don't have set colors in mind. I suspect you may have a better idea than I, what colors mean and what colors might be best based on the qualities I want to covey, which I discuss in the brief.

I would like to have variations for both a white background and a colored background.

Thank you to all that submitted designs. I have quite a few good ones and this will be a tough decision. I appreciate everyone going back and forth with me so much in the past week. Sincerely, Christine

Thanks to those that have submitted designs so far. Yeah! Let's try doing the logo without the tagline. I did put a tagline in there, but maybe I shouldn't have. It was mostly for inspiration.

Hello AxeDesign; Thank you for participating in my contest. I'll do my best to give clear feedback. Here is some feedback to get started. These initial designs are busier than I would like. I would like 2-3 colors, colors that would later become part of my brand. Christine
