Logo should create an elegant, supreme, trustful and reliable impression, making prospective client feeling comfortable to do business with. Rememeber this is finance industry so a traditional design is prefered.

not sure. but normally finance firms use darker colors to place them as stable businesses.

Again the "High Street" term is pretty solid in British English. I would like to see skyline, or commercial buildings, or any other images that link people thinking about making money.
