Oh So Good Photos

Yes

We currently specialize in youth sports action photography; however, we don’t want to be boxed in to that segment exclusively. We would like a character “the picture guy” that can illustrate various sports activities such as hitting a baseball, throwing a football, kicking a soccer ball, shooting a basketball or a cameraman/photographer taking a picture. Think of a multi colored sillyband in the various configurations.

The last designs really are great. Just a few minor revisions need to be made. 1. #33 is so very close to what we are looking for . The camera looks great. We just need his right hand to be made in a fist as you did in #32. 2. #31 is such a cute concept. We would like to see the camera color in black instead of purple to make it look like a professional camera. we are down to the wire and really appreciate all of your hard work and creative ideas.

111018 9:15P 1-The camera is in the correct hand now, thank you. 2-The arm that the camera is in needs to be close to his chest and the other arm needs to be extended outward. 3-The camera does not have to be pointed straight ahead, it can be held at an angle that is pointed a little to the right. The look is that he is rushing to the next photo shoot and he is just holding onto the camera, not trying to take a picture. We do not want the camera to hide the color shutter on his chest. 4-The text is now all red but it is still two shades of red. We want it to be only one color, red. 5- We like the character in design #24, he is a little bigger and his cape is too. That is the character we wanted with the changes described above and in the blue color.

111017 345P I want to thank everyone who has participated in the contest. It has been extended for three more days! We are close but, not quite where we want to be. We like the character in design number 24 but we like the blue color in 25. We would like to see his left arm extended and his right arm pulled back with a professional camera with a big lens in his right hand. We favor the text in design #25. The text needs to be solid red and we like the black border but, not the black background and white lettters. I am concerned that having two colors in a web-site address could confuse some of our customers. They may think “photos.com” is the address instead of “ohsogoodphotos.com”

At this stage we are happy with the color shutter as illustrated in #5 & 6. The text is ok too. What we are focused on now is the character. Please read the following and hopefully it will give you some better idea of what could work. I have thought about how the color shutter might be incorporated into the character. It could be on the chest like a superman shield, smaller and inside the upper torso or chest mimicking the heart or inside the head mimicking the brain. It could also be on the palm of the hand, or on gloves that are warn on the hands like Michael Jackson wore his sequence studded gloves. It could be a separate part altogether like a small ball... maybe like a stress ball that fits in the palm of your hand. This could be could be animated on our web-site with the character throwing the color shutter at a blurry black and white image that would explode on impact and turn the image into a full color photo that really pops! The color shutter balls could be attached to the belt like a soldier wears, but instead of doing something bad our character will be doing something good and invigorating to the eye and mind of those watching! Photographers refer to taking a picture as “shooting” or “shot”. Also, they wear a lot of equipment like a soldier, police officer or fireman. This could resonate with a lot of kids who look up to people in these positions and many of them have family members who serve in the positions. The color shutter ball being thrown or shot from the camera, and on impact transforming something that looked bad into something that is beautiful would convey a subliminal message that having the camera pointed at you means that something good and magical is about to happen! I hope this helps to stimulate your thoughts and i look forward to seeing your magic!

111013 0930A #5 and #6 look good with the white lines and outer edge in the color shutter changed to black. We want to keep that change. I like the look of the character but it lacks appeal from the kids. I would like for you to let your creative thoughts flow and see what you can come up with. I owned a sports bar that used a cartoon character (a shark) that resonated with the target market which was 18-30. “Sharkie” was cool. He was featured wearing a hat and sunglasses, he had a pool cue in one hand and a beer mug in the other! That character was illustrated in the same ways that I have in mind for “the picture guy”. We even had a professional costume made in Hollywood, CA that was used at various events. That was a very popular character and I would like to do something similar here. We will have to stay away from the beer though, since we are working with small kids. I am thinking something like Spiderman or another athletic type of super hero. I would like to incorperate or tie the colors from the color shutter to the character if possible.

111012 1025A #3 and #4 are definitely headed in the right direction. Change the white lines and outer edge in the color shutter to black. I would like to see the font color in red and on the top line read “Oh So Good” and the bottom line Photos.com so that it is more balanced. I like the character and the style it is presented in but, I am not sure that would be perceived as cool enough for the kids to like in the action positions discussed eariler. It is ironic though that you included a hat that is similar to the ones that I wear! I want to think and do some research before I ask for changes on the character.

Hi, Thank you for submitting a design. I looks great but it is not what we were looking for. I have found it is much harder to articulate the details in a project than I thought; however, I will attempt to do better with the following details of my thoughts. We need a single character in our design. The character needs to be taking a picture or have his camera in hand and ready to take the next action shot! This same character will be illustrated (these will be additional design contest) participating in the various sporting events that we shoot. For example, when we are shooting football, the character will be featured (doing what the participants do, like throwing, catching or running with the football) on caps, shirts, book bags, lunch boxes and other specialty advertising items and offered for sale and as incentives or bonuses for purchases. Our name “Oh so good photos” could possibly incorporate a shutter with the color spectrum in the first “O” in “Oh” or a color shutter could be larger and beside or on top of our name. Either way the color shutter should be a associated with our name and from that, the character will emerge. This will be animated on our web-site. The color shutter will morph into the “picture guy”. The character needs to incorporate the same color spectrum so that it will tie or be associated with the color shutter. What we are trying to accomplish is to establish links or associations from the color shutter, to the picture guy, to the athlete that will be featured in the various forms. Think of it as a transformer toy that has been so popular with the kids. There was a commercial that had a translucent man that I believe was drinking an energy drink. That character was a line drawing that depicted a strong athletic body. Something similar could work for this design. I hope this is helpful to you.
