Creative Brief

French Bakery Brand Logo

Bonjour de Paris

No

This is for a new brand of French bakery products that are being imported to the USA from a French Bakery. The French Bakery (Regals de Bretagne) is already an established bakery in France and has a logo that we would like to use as a model for our design. The logo needs to portray a "French feeling" in the eyes of an American consumer.

- A range of French Bakery Products being sold in the USA

Colors need to be the same as the Yellow and Blue in the attached brand logo that we will be using as a reference (see attached Regals de Bretagne brand logo). - Yellow/Gold - Blue

2

- Font to be inspired by the "Regals de Bretagne" brand logo (will attach for reference). Needs to be in cursive that resembles a hand written style.
- Bonjour should be prominent and "De Paris" should be smaller (but not quite as small as "De Bretagne" in attached logo)
- Logo needs to incorporate a loaf of bread or the Eiffel Tower in the logo (or both unless it looks too busy)
- 2 colors only: Blue or Orange (close to Regals de Bretagne (see attachment))
- The whole logo should be placed in the frame of a stamp in order to make the brand look like a postage stamp. (will attach a picture for reference)

Dear All, Thank you so far for all your submissions. Please note that I have made some changes to the uploads, as I am modifying the direction of this project a bit. Some of the changes are as follows: - I no longer want a loaf of bread or the Eiffel Tower in the design. These two elements are making the logo's look too busy and crowded. We are aiming for a cleaner design. This is very important! - I have added additional postage stamps that almost match exactly the format and style of a "stamp" that I am looking for. To recap, this is a double circle, faded to represent "vintage" look as well as a hand printed feeling, "squiggly" line subtle and only to the right of the circle, and a slight angle so that it has a hand printed look and feeling. - I would like to see the "Bonjour" and "Paris" stick out more. This is most likely achieved by bolder fonts. Please see the uploads regarding "Bonjour" font and "Paris" font, as I have specific ideas of what this should look like. To recap, "Bonjour" font should be bold and the biggest, also can be creative. In the picture of "bonjour" font, I like how the letters are not all lined up, but rather are displaced. For "Paris", I know I would like a cursive style that is more bold and captures a more vintage style of writing. - The upload that has words fitting into a circle that are cut off but still legible is a very unique, modern and risky style that wound up working. Please take the time to explore this style of design. I like how even though the words are cut off it is still clear what they spell. I am open to accepting this style. - Lastly, I uploaded the "Tour de France" logo because I want to point out the unconventional and modern design characteristics. I like designs that take chances like this and are unique, but don't forget that we are equally concerned with capturing a "vintage" feel for the brand logo. I will comment on your logos individually now and provide feedback. Many are great logos and with the right changes could be winners. For your immediate reference, designs #95-#99 have done a good job following the parameters of my updated directions. The stamp style, "squiggly" line to the right of the double circle, faded look, and angle are all great. #87 has done a good job experimenting with a different style and taking a chance on being unique, which has granted a modern feeling. This logo needs color. #92 and #69 have also captured the idea of what I am trying to accomplish. I look forward to receiving many more of your excellent designs with the most recent adjustments. Thanks, Ryan

The "de" should be smaller than "Paris". "Paris" should be pronounced but still not as big or pronounced as bonjour.

Additionally, I think the logo is becoming too crowded with the eiffel tower. For this reason I advise that from now on we do not incorporate the eiffel tower. I will take the uploaded photos of the eiffel tower down right now. Thanks, Ryan

Thanks to everyone so far for all the submitted designs, I will be providing feedback as we move through this project. I just wanted to note that I would like to make a slight adjustment to the original project parameters. Please check the "uploads" and refer to the new examples of the postage stamp that I updated. Instead of a stamp that is bought in a store, I would like to see a postcard stamp that would be applied to a postcard by a post office agency. Also, I need the whole brand logo to be on a slight angle, as if it was applied by hand and not straight and uniform as if it was applied by a machine. I thank you in advance and look forward to providing feedback to your projects. Best Regards, Ryan
