St. James United Methodist Church Logo

St. James United Methodist Church

Follow Jesus, Love Others, Change the World

No

We are looking for a logo that reflects who we are.
St. James is a suburban United Methodist church neighboring a major university. We are diverse in worship styles - we have a strong traditional element with stained glass, full liturgy and organ and choral music, as well as high energy modern worship at the other end of the campus led by a band and vocalists. We have a strong children’s program and attract many young families – young, educated professionals – average age of attenders would be between 30-35. St. James church is seen as energetic, creative and actively involved in the local community. We would like to see the logo reflect that energy and movement.
We embrace our United Methodist heritage and would like to have the Methodist Cross and Flame incorporated into our logo if possible. (see http://www.umc.org/c.lwL4KnN1LtH/b.3912107/siteapps/tools/PhotoGallery.aspx for example. I will upload a copy later.) Or maybe a more modern variation of the cross and flame. This is not a requirement, but a request.

We don't have specific colors in mind, but would like to see vibrant, energetic color combinations. The cross and flame uses the red for the flame, but we're not tied to that.

sub30s - I like your #14 draft. However, The flame needs to be on the left side of the cross to be the Methodist symbol. I do like the font and feel of the logo - would it be possible to add a graphic element (say the roof top edge or a horizon swoop) to add to the energy and motion. Thanks.

Indahfull - thank you for a very quick and creative look for the logo. I like the simplicity and clean lines of the look. I especially like the more colorful approach in draft #2, but could we make the flame a little closer to the original? - I'm not sure it would be recognized as a rendition of the United Methodist logo as currently drawn. Also, I get a feeling of formality from the logo. Is there a way that we could make it more casual? A different font? Incorporating the cross as the "t" in "St. James"?

Attention Designers!! MycroBurst permits you to submit unlimited designs with unlimited variations. However, if you are providing 2 or 3 different color versions of the same logo in one draft, please make sure that if the particular draft gets finalized, each color version should be separated before you will send the final files. Thanks, MB/LDG/LS Team
