New business logo – celebrating success and new opportunities
Dunfield House
how good the world can be
Yes
This design is about rebranding/capturing what our centre stands for. We offer group accommodation promoting the importance of community, a different feel to the isolation of being in hotel rooms. The centre is primarily for young people but the logo needs to ‘speak’ to all ages. We provide either a fully catered service or self catering for groups from 20 people to 100.
Our aim is to provide a space where guests have the chance to step apart from a world that can be isolating and focused on material goods and pressures of everyday living to engage for a short while in a beautiful place, to feel refreshed and renewed and ready to face to world with memories of a wonderful place to keep the experience fresh for them
We are looking for a design that will become iconic to the centre that will be used on all business materials, publications, souvenirs e.g.: pens, postcards, water bottles etc.), web promotional sites, etc.
• Our existing website and core segment can be found on www.dunfieldhouse.org.uk
• our flickr photo stream can be found on http://www.flickr.com/photos/30858865@N06/
• Our Facebook site highlights the customer experience we offer, with memories being shared from last week to over 30 years ago http://www.facebook.com/dunfieldhouse
• The following short video shows they type of experience that one of our segment groups [schools] can have here: http://animoto.com/play/Rgo9aA3UHDwm8IBlPFG0Zw
• The following website shows photo’s from a recent wedding here:

We are looking for a logo that will bridge the old business with new core segments which will include camping, functions and weddings and activities provided onsite, whilst retaining the uniqueness of the centre e.g.: home from home, a feeling of coming home. Community, of being part of something bigger

We would be interested in capturing part of the roof outline, perhaps with a quirky, modern feel that speaks to young people whilst not losing the identity of the house for our more ‘mature’ guests who have visited for many years.
The house also has a purple beech tree [although everyone thinks it is a copper beech] which is stunning – although the business open 365 so some guests would not see it in full leaf. Possibly this may be too generic.
Capturing the roof outline would be a challenge but unique to Dunfield, the design could not be confused with another centre; however, the building only becomes ‘special’ once people have visited, so we are really open to a new interpretation of our business.
