Describe who/what this design is about

This will be a logo for the IT Department of a company with an existing logo. The IT Department develops software as well as being responsible for the maintenance of all infrastructure (networks and servers). Logo should represent either the software development OR the infrastructure administration.

The logo must incorporate the "8" of the company's existing logo! That' the challenge.

The "8" can either be incorporated as is, or the "8" can be modified in some way (e.g., the 8 could be shown as being constructed, or compiled, unwound etc., etc.). The logo must be suitable for a white background.
