Setlementti Tampere will be a coalition of two current local settlement organisations: Setlementti Naapuri (www.naapuri.fi) and Omapolku ry (www.omapolku.fi). Our place of operation is mainly the city of Tampere, Finland and nearby municipalities.

- Wihreä Puu is a meeting place and civic house for people of all ages.
- DIDAR works with issues on honor related culture and aims to pretend honor related violence.
- Välitä-yksikkö educates and works with victims of sexual abuse and sexual violence.
- Perheväkivaltaklinikka works with men or women suffering of domestic violence.

- TUAS provides a close and professional support to young people starting up their independent lives, who due to various reasons, need tangible support to achieve everyday life control and independence.
- OmaPolku supports the development of young people with disabilities and helps their parents to cope in everyday life.
- Omavoima offers neuro psychiatric expertise and low-threshold activities and peer support for people with ADHA, ADD or Aspergers.
- Voimavirta’s target groups are young people with intellectual disabilities (14-30 years) and their parents. We offer young people leisure activities, peer support for parents, as well as a great opportunity to do voluntary work for young audiences.

In principle, we do not charge for our services.

We would like our logo and look to embody the “spirit of settlement work”. That is compassion, warmth, togetherness etc. We would also like to have something that says that we are modern and dynamic settlement society which is constantly keeping up on what people and the society needs. Settlement movement is a cool and traditional thing, but we don’t want our logo to be “too” traditional and old-timey. Some nice mix of traditional and dynamic modern would be nice.
Although lot of our work is low-threshold civic work, some of our services are very professional as well (especially in the fields of domestic and sexual violence).

So, in a nutshell, please give us designs that have the feel of:
- Compassion
- Warmth
- Professionalism
- Togetherness
- Agility (as in reaction to current events, staying on top of what’s happening in the world)
- Locality

And here are some NO’s:
- No ball-headed people (like here: http://i40.tinypic.com/2e5qgig.jpg)
- Nothing too “narrow”. We work with people of all ages and nationalities, so for example a super-cool and extreme graffiti logo would be a no.
- Please try to refrain from using the traditional NGO-ideas such as “people holding hands” or “a tree growing from seed”. We need something fresh.
