Please follow the Purdue University Color Pallet for "Black" and "Campus Gold". Please see the Purdue Media and Marketing Brand Guidelines and Resources Page for details on the colors: http://www.purdue.edu/brand/visual/colors.html It might also be good to have a black-and-white version of the design.

If "Ray W. Herrick Laboratories" is too long, you can use "Ray W. Herrick Labs" instead.

I have checked off a few different design types since we are not really sure what we are looking for yet.

I have listed a tagline but I'm not sure if it's too long to include with the logo. Please include if you think it fits. Otherwise, you can leave it out.

For those integrating the cupola image, abstract versions are preferred over near-replications of the current design. Also, the weather vane should be drawn (or removed), to avoid the possible interpretation of it as a religious symbol. Alternatively, perhaps something creative can be done with just the vane?

Images suitable for web/letterhead, which have a logical smaller counterpart for Social Media, etc. are being preferred.

If it is helpful, the Laboratory is often referred to as "Herrick Labs", thus these words should probably be emphasized over others. Also, I've posted an old logo here (https://engineering.purdue.edu/~jfrhoads/Publications/Herrick%20Logo%20Weather%20Vane.gif), which might be an inspiration to some. We definitely want to tone down the antiquated look though.
