Who we are:
Dakine Café is a brand new café opening in Bend, Oregon. We will be serving specialty espresso drinks (up to “hipster” “coffee snob” quality but some with a Hawaiian twist) teas, smoothies, acai bowls, pastries and Australian inspired toasts. Our building is a stand alone building that resembles a Hawaiian shack.

Our slogan: A little taste of Paradise

Our mission statement:
We are a local family owned and operated Café, offering the finest quality coffee drinks, acai bowls and baked goods. Our products are inspired by our love for family, community, the beautiful outdoors; Hawaii, Bend and the outdoor culture and a lifestyle that come with them. This is why we created a menu that offers an appealing balance with a variety of unique choices ranging from vibrant, nutrient-super-food packed acai bowls, specialty coffee drinks to hearty or sweet fresh baked goods. All of our menu items are carefully hand crafted using only the freshest, finest quality ingredients possible.

The LOGO:
We would like to have a coconut that suggests that it is serving a food product out of it. We prefer not to see the product because we offer a variety of ideas on our menu and therefore would like it to be able to translate it in a variety of ways. A spoon could be in it but prefer to not have a straw. The coconut should tell a story, have personality and character. Imagine an individual living on the beach in a tropical place like Bali, Hawaii, Costa Rica, South America, barefoot with sun kissed skin living the outdoor active dream life they break open a husked coconut on a rock and fill it with something fresh, energizing and vibrant eat it with a hand carved wood spoon. It is far from a coconut that would resemble on tourist’s superficial luau. Finally, we would like it to be something that we can build upon. (ex. Make a kids shirt with the coconut being a kids version with eyes, arms and legs or on a more extreme look on a tshirt)

Final Thoughts:
Although Bend offers a huge variety of outdoor lifestyle activities (paddle boarding, kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing ect) the founders of Dakine Café and its employees biggest passion is for skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding. We would like our logo to be something that our future sponsored athletes and followers are proud to slap on their board, car, water bottle, laptop and more.
