Creative Brief

Human Organ Project Logo

Human Organ Project

Yes

The organization is a non-profit founded to raise money to support research and companies who are working
at the cutting edge of science. These groups are using biotechnology and cell technologies to recreate human organs
from cells and biomaterials. Tissue engineering of full human organs for transplant is the goal.
We want to end the problem of organ transplant waiting lists, and help save countless lives.

Like some of the examples in "symbol" category, designs should include the full name in a distinctive font. Symbol and then the font selection are the key creative elements.
http://www.sanfordconsortium.org/ - this one is memorable, but we need more complexity, less abstract than this
http://www.kidney.org/ - this one has big problems, including distracting and unimportant internal details. But on the representational vs abstract curve, it hits the mark.
http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/ - too classic of course, but incorporates an inspirational element that is nice
Classic cleverness like these always welcome: http://inspirationfeed.com/inspiration/logos/30-clever-logos-with-hidden-messages/

THANK YOU to all who competed for this project. We really liked the designs, and saw some genius in the last few we were contemplating. We really felt the selected design brought the ideas together the best. It was a tough decision as the field was quite strong! Thanks again to all.

#41-46 41 and 46 themselves are best. Again, we need to have natural heart shapes, though. if you can do some similar designs with these types of lines but real organ shapes, that might be nice

#28/27 28 like the motif overall, but not the rounded heart shape, try a natural heart and other organ shapes. The font/text in these is good.

#30 - maybe with several organ shapes in there? silhouette is nice but also try a color, playing with the motifs in #29-30 Shape needs to look more like specific organ shapes, kidney, lung, natural/actual heart shape(not valentine-shaped)

#16 the vascular motif is nice if it can be evolved a bit #11 and #12 show promise but need to be more representational, less abstract

#10/#17 like these, maybe make the shapes also become doubly representational - one a lung, one a kidney, etc... still with the circle to represent the total human form too. See how close to the same the three shapes can look while still being representations of organs. Also try two since three may be too many

#14 when I look at that in a certain way I see a person in there... if that can be fleshed out a bit, and less angular shapes, no polygons but something else and maybe the green shape becomes the organ going in or being received?

#2/#3 try a less traditional heart shape, have a less stylized more representational outline of a kidney or actual heart in the hands

Hi all thanks for the early drafts. I would note that double helix and DNA is definitely not what we're going for... medical but not molecular medicine please! We like the abstract human forms in some of these, but need more overall submissions to comment further!
