Healthy Ocala is a non-profit community organization that is deploying internet based technology that enables electronic exchange of health information in support of patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers, and the community as a whole. It was formed with the prospect for a healthier citizenry, more efficient use of healthcare resources and reduced cost of healthcare to the community. The goal is to increase adoption of health information technology to improve the health of residents in the Greater Ocala area and ensure long term viability of its healthcare system.
