The Global Health Design Initiative provides students with an opportunity to address global health challenges through clinical immersion and capstone design. Since 2008, ~100 undergraduate and graduate students from U-M have conducted clinical observations at hospitals in Ghana, Ethiopia, Nicaragua, and China for the purpose of identifying health challenges that could be addressed through engineering course-based design projects.
