Business Logo (my company's name is Talent Matters Inc.)
Talent Matters
No
• Letter Case: submit submissions using both (a) all lower-case letters (i.e., talent matters) and (b) title case letters (i.e., Talent Matters);
• Placement of Words: submit submissions showing both (a) the two words side by side (i.e., talent matters) and (b) with talent above the word matters;
• Fonts: some examples of font types we like are the more rounded lettering used in "FOUNDRY CONTEXT" font, but with a play on one or two letters (e.g., see the way "g" is constructed in the gowlings logo at www.gowlings.com or the way the "m" is constructed in the mccarthy tétrault logo at www.mccarthy.ca -- the last line in the letter "m" is dropped and is cut on an angle in order to give the appearance it is the accent over the letter "e" in tetrault) -- the point is to play up certain letters in the logo;
• No Picture: we do not want to have an insignia or picture as part of the logo, as we rather have the logo be focussed on the actual words "talent matters", which we plan to use on all marketing materials rather than an insignia or picture;
• Colour: we like greys, grey-or steel-grey blues, other muted blues or muted non-vibrant colours and perhaps the use of one vibrant colour to emphasize one particular letter or feature, but you should submit both one with and without the vibrant colour to show the difference. We also would like to see examples of colour progression in the lettering -- for example, please see how the letters "go" are darker in colour than the rest of the letters "wlings" in the logo gowlings at www.gowlings.com
• Hollow lettering: whatever we choose for the actual colour, font, etc., we also want you to provide lettering without any colour in them in order for us to use an "imagery logo" depending on what we are trying to market (i.e., see www.mccarthy.ca and how they place a picture within the blank space of the lettering). So to be clear, please show us an example of how this would look, but we would need the designer to create the hollow lettering in order for us to use whatever picture we would like once we own the logo.
