To give you a little background about our organization, GFLI's mission is to advance financial literacy and financial responsibility in the US and throughout the world. The initial idea for GFLI sprouted a couple years ago (circa 2009) when I first started reading through my CFP books, but it's not until now that I've been able to allocate my energy towards building the organization.

The PROBLEM I noticed was a lack of basic financial planning lessons in our school system which leads to a lack of financial understanding in people of all ages. The negative results of little to no financial education for people are evident in the high amounts of credit card debt people carry, the lack of savings for retirement, and increased number of bankruptcies in the recent years, among others.

Our goal for 2012 is to partner with local and international high schools, deliver a quantifibale number of financial lessons (given by volunteers, business professionals, CPA's, who have already expressed interest in volunteering, etc.), and give out $10,000 - 20,000 worth of college scholarships to students who earn the scholarship.

Eventually we will have international chapters, hold a financial leadership summit, and look to gain media publicity in the WSJ, USA Today, LA Times, etc.

What we want to incorporate in our logo:
1) some sort of world/globe
2) our name (Global Financial Literacy Initiative or our initials (GFLI)
3) something that communicates learning and or education and finance
4) Maybe some sort of arrow going around the globe to show "action" & "advancement" (just an idea)


Maybe we can't incorporate all the above mentioned items gracefully, in the end something that is simple, memorable, and professional is what we would like.
