BURGER BAR or THE BURGER BAR

I'm opening a new hamburger/hotdog fastfood restaurant. It will serve high quality burgers and hotdogs that have been handformed and never frozen, so it will be more of a gourmet burger bar rather than a cheap, greasy fastfood outlet. The name could be "Burger Bar" or "The Burger Bar" so it's up to you, the designer, to come up with the best option and see what works best with the logo. The logo could be just the name, or also include a picture of some sort. I like the illustrative examples used below (Harley Davidson etc.) and we'd be looking to sell t-shirts so it'd be good to have a logo that makes for a funky t-shirt that people would want to buy and wear. Also, I'm not sure whether to take the logo in a sleek, modern direction or use something more retro, so it'd be good to see options for both design styles.

I like shades of red, burgundy or brown and have read that these colors are good for food...think Chipotle Mexican Grill or Pret-a-Manger in the UK. Actually I quite like the Chipotle logo and image (chili pepper).

    As 'Burger Bar' or 'The Burger Bar' is the name rather than just a description (Johnny's Burger Bar for example), I think we need to highlight it more. With #4 and #6 the words Burger Bar look more like a description than the name itself. A blend of the directions that #3 and #6 are taking would be good. A picture (such as the cow) is not necessary so maybe try without it.

    Thanks everyone for your designs so far. I'm after something a bit more modern and funky and if possible try and play on the bar (as in a bar where you drink) theme. Some of the promotional and marketing ideas we have are going to use this theme, say for example "happy hour", so a logo that ties in with this may work. I attached the beer bottle top as an example.
