Social Photography Business Logo

Mark Richardson Wedding Photography

Yes

The logo is for a UK-based photographer who primarily shoots weddings. Ideally the logo design should be sufficiently flexible to allow for refresh should the emphasis of the business change in future to other areas of social photography (e.g. studio portrait)

Logo to be used primarily on digital media - if appropraite it may also be used as an overlay/watermark on images. There may be occasions in which it is used in print but that is very much a secondary requirement.

Further information is available at www.markrichardson.co.uk

Preference is for no camera equipment (camera, lense, aperture etc) to form part of any logo (e.g. lots of photographers have aperture logos in place of an 'o' in their name) unless it is something particularly creative or unique

I'm going to be out of the office for a day or so at the end of the competition - so it may take a little while for me to confirm the winner.

Also - just realised that the brief suggests 3 colours, but I'd be very happy to look at designs using more colours.

Entries seem mostly to be around similar concepts - would like to see something a little more radical as well as some refinements of the monogram ideas so far. Everyone who has posted designs should have received feedback by now.

Just a further comment to add that I'd be interested in seeing some more abstract designs as well as developments on the monogram idea.

Just to add for any prospective designers, I am providing feedback on designs via private message. If anyone would like further clarification or generic feedback do feel free to ask!

Ok some initial feedback: Draft #1 - I like the overall structure, but the design may be a little too feminine. I'm also not entirely keen on the choice of typefaces for the business name - a little too contrasting (and I think I prefer lighter weight fonts). Draft #2 - I like the concept of the intials - simple but effective. Not sure that the current draft stands alone very well. I like the balance with the business name overlayed, but the initials on their own are lacking something. (I can't quite put my finger on what at the moment...) I notice both drafts have referred to Mark Richardson Photography (presumably because I said that I would like flexibility for the text). I currently legally trade as Mark Richardson Wedding Photography so would prefer designs to use that in the first instance.

Thanks dripick - always good to get a first design on the board! I'll provide some constructive feedback once there are a couple more designs up.
