Describe who/what this design is about

The logo is for the Australian International School - which is a leading international school in Singapore. The School has 2,600 students aged between 3 and 18; 67% are Australian, but over 45 other nationalities are represented in the cohort. The School was founded 18 years ago and is currently revisiting it's Mission, Vision and Values statements; revisiting our logo / branding is part of this process.

The logo will have a very wide range of uses and needs to be suitable for school uniforms, stationery, marketing materials, promotional items, displays, school buildings, etc. We currently have a crest - we're looking for either a refresh or a redesign. Open to options.

Hey designers - just to let you know, we're not necessarily looking for a new formal school crest. We're open to a more modern approach which encompasses the elements laid out in the brief. That could be an interpritation of some of the elements in our current design, but may also look quite different. We're keen on keeping the Southern Cross as our 'Australian / Southern Hemisphere" reference, but not really keen on using other very obvious Aussie references. Thanks
