ABOUT
Located in Seattle, Timber Board handcrafts hardwood cutting boards that are environmentally friendly. Our wood cutting boards are made from re-purposed, unused scrap hardwoods called offcuts. An offcut is a piece of wood that remains after a larger piece is removed. These pieces are typically discarded. We partner with local professionals such as cabinetmakers, furniture craftsmen and specialty contractors to reduce waste and re-purpose these hardwoods. Timber Board sources the unused scrap hardwood and turns it into beautiful handcrafted wood cutting boards making each one of a kind. Our business grew from the result of a love for fine woodworking, carpentry and an inclination to reduce waste through creative reuse.

Please see the below link for guidance on the tree. http://www.canstockphoto.com/single-tree-6161446.html I am NOT looking for an exact copy of it. However the things I like are as follows: 1) some of the branches are visible 2) the outline of the tree is not symmetrical 3) there are small spaces between some of the leaves so you can see through it. Please take this under consideration when creating designs. Thanks.

We selected a winner for this contest and the selection was flagged and removed. I have uploaded two versions of the previous winner in hopes that you can use it as inspiration to come up with an original design that will win and not be flagged. We like the idea of the tree which could possibly be used as a secondary mark. Additionally we like the idea of a more realistic looking tree as opposed to a cartoon looking one. The cutting boards are made from 3 types of wood maple, walnut and/or cherry. Possibly look at these types of trees for inspiration. Keep in mind the logo will be branded into the side of the board.

I'd like something simple and clean. Drafts #90 & #91 are good examples. My preference would be a sans-serif font. I like the idea of have a tree or wood grain that could potentially be used as a secondary icon like in drafts #198, #171 & #81. Thanks again for all the work. There are elements of several designs I like.

Please keep in mind we will be branding this on the side of each cutting board. The average thickness is around 1.5 - 2 inches thick. We'd also like something that can be used for social media thumbnails. Thanks for all the work!
