Describe who/what this design is about

This logo is for a dental specialist office (periodontist). We specialize in the placement of dental implants, treating gum disease, gum surgeries, bone grafting, and other periodontal plastic surgery procedures. We would like the design of the logo to be "clean", "simple", and "professional". Would like to convey that we provide high quality of care in an empathetic caring environment.

Although this is a dental office, I would rather not have any "Dentistry" symbols in the logo. No teeth or implants.

Periodontics focuses on the bone and surrounding and supporting structures of teeth. Dental implants act as a foundation for teeth after a tooth is lost. When looked at it this way Periodontics is the foundation of dentistry.

A little more about the area. Redding CA sits in the valley of three mountain ranges, and has several lakes and rivers. The words in the logo design are not as important as the symbol of the design.
