Describe who/what this design is about

The logo will be for a start-up Orthodontic practice. The ideal logo would be fun enough that kids age 10-15 would wear it on a t-shirt, but clean enough that it would still appeal to the mom's who will ultimately be the decision-maker. I'd like the logo to be fun and modern, yet polished and professional. To the parent the logo should convey trust and attention to detail. To the kid it should be warm and welcoming.

Hey Everyone, Again, thank you all for your time and entries. Quick comment.... It is going to be important that the logo can be placed in all white on a dark background for the purposes of being printed on t-shirts. This will allow for me to keep the costs of printing low. Please consider this when proposing a logo design.

Thank you for your entries. Just a few general comments: I had hoped to totally avoid dental cliches in the design (i.e. a tooth, orthodontic brackets). Also, as part of the design I would like something in addition to the words "Carter Orthodontics" that can be used in branding ... such as a "CO" or "C", etc. Again, Thank you all for your time and entries.
