Cornerstone Church

Preaching the Gospel, Living the Gospel

Yes

Cornerstone Church is an independent evangelical church that was established 75+ years ago. We would like to acknowledge that history while at the same time looking ahead to the future. The logo should be classic, conveying stability (i.e. solid ground, a firm foundation) without appearing like "your grandfather's church". It should incorporate a cross, and would ideally contain a symbol that could easily represent our "brand" (see the following for examples of symbol usage:

We have a few additional comments concerning our design goals: - Could we see some designs with sans-serif fonts? We would like to like to communicate being warm, welcoming, and approachable; a font change may be helpful to this end. - The final design will be used both on the web and in print media. The web appearance will need to be in white, while any print media will be in color. Please submit designs that work in both formats. - We would like an accompanying symbol that communicates the message of either the church name or our tag line. Here are some additional examples of church logos where this has been effectively done (NOTE: we are not looking to emulate the actual symbols used, but are just offering these as examples of effective logo designs): http://www.watermark.org/ - symbol features a "w" in the midst of a water line http://www.taprootchurchtwinfalls.com/ - symbol features a stylized "t" that is shaped like a root http://www.resurrectionparkslope.org/ - symbol is reminiscent of the Brooklyn Bridge, and the home church is based in Brooklyn http://www.thevoyagechurch.com/ - the "o" in voyage includes a compass, suggesting a journey http://www.citychurchob.com/ - there are two implied dialog bubbles, suggesting a conversation; they meet to form a cross, indicating the topic of that conversation is Christ
