ENIXTA is an anagram for "NEXT AI" or "Next Generation Artificial Intelligence".

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE is the branch of Computer Science that is trying to replicate all aspects of HUMAN (or NATURAL) intelligence in a computer system.

An INTELLIGENT system can:
(a) UNDERSTAND (e.g. humans understand language, visual input, speech, etc.),
(b) LEARN (e.g. representations of objects and strategies for games),
(c) PREDICT (what will happen next),
(d) ADAPT (to changing circumstances), and
(e) REASON (logical inferencing, problem solving).

WHAT: At Enixta we are inspired by the human BRAIN - a remarkable and mysterious organ that can do so many intelligent tasks - understand language, interpret what we are seeing or hearing, solve problems, write poetry, draw paintings, invent new things, solve mysteries, etc. We want to (1) Replicate the brain's "intelligence" related functions in an machine through a series of sophisticated algorithms, (2) feed this brain with the world's knowledge (Web, Scientific, Legal, Economic, etc.), and (3) apply this to to solve some of the hard problems facing mankind.

WHY: At Enixta, we believe the SOLUTIONS to some of the burning problems for mankind (e.g. cure for cancer/diabetes, greener planet, energy crisis, education crisis, economic crisis, etc.) are ALREADY there in the enormous amount of scientific knowledge that mankind has accumulated over centuries. Its just a matter of "CONNECTING THE DOTS" and "FILLING SOME HOLES" in that knowledge scattered across the scientific literature of the world. While humans are great at deep understanding and reasoning over what they know, there is a limit to how much a human can know. Computers on the other hand can "devour" all the world's knowledge but they don't have the human ability yet to do "deep reasoning" over this data. We wish to combine the Human reasoning and thinking abilities with the computers capacity to ingest vast amounts of knowledge.
