Ah Cacao Chocolate Café

Ah Cacao

Logo needs to work with any one of: "Hecho en México", "Chocolate Café", "Real Chocolate" or (NONE))

Yes

The Ah Cacao brand is used for a chain of "Chocolate Cafés" and also a range of packaged natural food products that includes chocolate, cacao, coffee, vanilla.

The benefit we want to offer the consumers of our products is "natural well being", therefore the logo should communicate this, or "natural energy", etc.

The brand has its roots in the Maya origins of cacao (chocolate) and su alluding to this heritage is a plus. The word "Ah Cacao" means "lord chocolate" in the Maya language.

We've been using 483C and 465C and like these but are open to options.

We consider our image to be "contemporary maya", that is what Maya design would be today if they'd continued evolving the way the western world has. In effect taking present day design ideas and trying to introduce a Maya twist, and completely skipping traditional european, 'olde worlde' ideas.

Dear Designers We apologize for not selecting a winning design. We would have liked to, as that was obviously the reason we invested so much of our time in launching the competition and in reviewing and rating the designs. However at the end of the day we simply that we didn't feel that any of the designs better represented our brand than our pre-competition candidate (which was previously shared with you and can be seen at http://www.facebook.com/AhCacaoRealChocolate). There were a few designs that we considered to be very close to what we wanted, and these were rated with 5 stars, but none that we felt had the right combination of originality and rememberability that our brand needs, while communicating "natural wellbeing/energy". If any designers would like to contact Ah Cacao to offer their services for non-competion projects they are welcome to do so through our website, though this may violate Mycroburst's terms of agreement. Regards Ah Cacao

Please review the 4 and 5 star rated designs to see the ones closest to what we're looking for. I would like to be able to comment on each design individually but haven't figured out a way to do this. If anyone knows how, do let me know!

This project has been extended by 4 additional days as during the initial run we didn't find THE design we were looking for. Let me give some additional guidance: 1. The logo needs to simple enough to imprint itself in the minds of our consumers and original enough to be identified with our brand. It also needs to look desirable enough that consumers will want associate themselves with the brand. 2. Remember that we want to communicate natural energy/well being. 3. Please avoid using gradients and more than two colors. 4. Prior to running the competition we had a logo candidate that we like and so are looking for something better than this. Adaptations of this same design are welcome: http://www.facebook.com/AhCacaoRealChocolate 5. The designs in this competition that were closest to being accepted were:

SALLY!!! LOL. It's obvious you don't understand the difference between design license vs. copyright infringement. Even it it did come right out of your pretty little head as an original design, it's still "too similar" and poses a problem when registering the logo. Take care.

Dear aadesign, this is sallu and not sally. As stated by you """"But this logo is too specific, brand of the chocolate, shown in the books of best logos."""" Don't you think this is gonna apply on my given link they are all communication companies, they have speech bubbles in their logos and they all are in the books of best logos as well. And Mr. ksantos (part time lawyer) i think it's better, avoid to talk to you because this is design thing and you wouldn't be able to understand. It's to funny that you're dragging the CH into the court room. You better read this article before use these type of words ---http://www.lawdit.co.uk/reading_room/room/view_article.asp?name=../articles/What%20is%20a%20brand.htm---. sallu :)

Dear Sally, I respect your work and I'll appreciate if you win with any other draft. I agree also regarding bubbles and other shapes that use designers in many versions. But this logo is too specific, brand of the chocolate, shown in the books of best logos. As told ksantos CH would have big problems. Anyway you have good ratings in other draft, so have a luck with them!

That's OK let Sallu think he's got an original design. If the CH chooses it and the other company finds out, he'll be spending thousands to fight them in court. That's more than the 500 he will pay on here.

I agreed with sallu, and it's not a rip off also the design is so different circles and the placement of circles are different.

Dear aadesign, I just ignored your comments but you are still behind me. Now watch it carefully http://www.brianoberkirch.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/bubble_hell3.jpg ------ do you think all are ripped off designs look at them they are world's largest companies and according to you they all are ripping off. Be gentle and think about it i never saw this logo before it's mine own creation and it's not a rip off like i stated link above they are all using speech bubble just like that i used circles and it's not an offence in a designing world. And please don't panic about my original design anymore just report to MB staff and let them decide that, I'm worn or you are. In the end i would like to say that, we are a community here please don't disturb it. And also please choose a positive way to win a contest not like this. sallu :)

Please remember: 1. the logo should comunicate "natural well-being/health" 2. the design should AVOID: - anything overtly european (crowns, serif and copperplate fonts, etc.) - gradients and special effects. The logo needs to be able to stand by itself with 2 solid colors.

Thanks. Feedback: #30/#29 Nice but not sure it has the fresh look we're aiming for. #33/#32/#31 Doesn't comunicate "natural well-being" to me.
