Our company wants to be more than the typical tutoring company by providing exceptional service and provide long-term guidance. We are mentors who can provide support for academics, the college application process, provide leads for extracurriculars, etc.
Typically we work with students for several years and become friends (almost family members) with our clients. We also leverage technology (text, email, phone, Skype, virtual whiteboards etc) so we are always available to our clients.
This type of relationship, level of service/availability and our ability to build/provide achievement, success and confidence to all of our clients is the key to our philosophy.

We are looking for something clean, modern and simple but professional. We are open to interesting font design, play on the words in the company's name or an abstract symbol/design. I don't want any obvious education symbols like an apple, graduation cap etc. but something more subtle that suggests things like achievement, illumination, epiphany etc would be great.
I like the simpleness of the font/logo of the consumer financial protection bureau (http://www.consumerfinance.gov/) and the hint of light coming from the C.
