Wedding Monogram for Prince William and Kate Unofficial Contest

William & Catherine

Yes

UNOFFICIAL CONTEST - JUST FOR FUN!!

Prince William and Kate Middleton are getting married!

We want you to design a beautiful, creative, regal wedding monogram for Prince William and Kate that highlights the magnitude of this event.

(A Monogram is a design consisting of two or more alphabetic letters combined, commonly one's initials or names, often printed on stationery, embroidered on clothing, etc.)

Brief History – The Royal Family of the UK is called the House of Windsor, and they have been ruling since 1917. Queen Elizabeth II has been the head of the royal family and ruling the UK since 1952. The last large, extravagant widely-celebrated royal wedding was on July 29, 1981, when Prince Charles and Diana got married.

Prince William and Kate’s wedding will take place April 29, 2011.

This contest is just for fun! We do not know anyone in the royal family, and they probably have some royal monograms lying around somewhere they could use – but we think their century-old designs could use a breath of fresh air.

You can make the monogram simple or complex.
You can include the names “William and Catherine” or “Prince William” and “Kate” or "Catherine", or “W” and “K” – You can also include the initials "HRH" which stand for “His Royal Highness” or “Her Royal Highness” – titles used to address the royal family.

WOWWW... what the choose. There is no words to comment on this ability to manipulate typography, its so great... :-( The "CA" + "THERINE" are very good, lol. Fortunately the word is not in french linguage, because "TERRINE" is a good food...

Designers - Please don't keep uploading the same monogram over and over with different colors. Just pick one and submit it. Thank you.

There are some amazing monograms here! A little bit of feedbaack: -Don't put a . after the date, #249 and #248 - #245 remove the " " quotation marks - #243 - Just beautiful. - #227 - Very cute and playful. Not right for a real monogram, but for this contest - it's a great way to incorporate a British cultural symbol. - #222 and #221 - you have two many things going on. Remove extra design elements. Remove the letters or the name. Keep it simple, you have some creative elements there. Try again!

this "user"rating system is really useless and completely out of place why spend bandwidth on this? - of cause NO competing designer is going to ad positive vote to a competing layout! ;-)

    designers, use "C & W" instead of "W & C" want to know why, read this: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2011/01/16/prince-william-and-kate-middleton-were-saved-from-wc-blushes-115875-22851981

Hi Designers! Let's try some monograms with the letters as "C W" or "Catherine and William" instead of only "W C". Also, please try to use solid colors, no shading, reflections, or multiple colors in the same letter, like #163 or #143 The best monograms are more simple and clear. Also, do not put images in the background like #128 - it looks nice as a design, but does not work well as a monogram. A good monogram design looks good in color and in black and white. Keep up the good work!
